FSU Football Loses Another Defender Ahead of Crucial Matchup with Stanford

Florida State will be down another key player on defense as they prepare for Saturday night’s ACC road game against Stanford, according to the latest availability report.

With less than a day remaining until kickoff, the Seminoles are facing mounting pressure. After three consecutive losses, FSU is in desperate need of a win to salvage any momentum heading into the final stretch of the 2025 season. A loss to Stanford would put head coach Mike Norvell and the team in a tough position.

Both teams are dealing with injuries ahead of the matchup.

Thursday’s initial ACC availability report listed nine Florida State players as out and 15 unavailable for Stanford. FSU also had six players marked as questionable — including wide receivers Duce Robinson and Jayvan Boggs, defensive back Edwin Joseph, running back Roydell Williams, linebacker Caleb LaVallee, and offensive tackle Micah Pettus. Five others were labeled probable, including quarterback Tommy Castellanos and tight end Randy Pittman Jr.

The most significant setback for FSU is the absence of redshirt sophomore cornerback Ja’Bril Rawls, who was unexpectedly ruled out earlier in the week.

Stanford will be without starting cornerback Aaron Morris, and two of their backup running backs — Cole Tabb and Sedrick Irvin — remain questionable.

The ACC released its second availability update on Friday evening, but there were no changes for either team. A final report will be issued two hours before kickoff on Saturday.
