October 18 — The Chicago Bulls announced that forward Zach Collins will be sidelined for approximately four weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist.

Collins had the procedure on Friday, just a day after suffering the injury in the second half of Chicago’s 126–120 preseason victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Last season, Collins appeared in 64 games (12 starts) between the San Antonio Spurs and the Bulls, averaging 6.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

The 27-year-old has averaged 8.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over 378 career games (83 starts) with the Portland Trail Blazers, Spurs, and Bulls. Originally drafted 10th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2017 out of Gonzaga, Collins was traded to Portland on draft night.

The Bulls tip off their regular season at home on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
