Dallas Stars Bring In Adam Erne on Professional Tryout Deal

With training camp on the horizon, NHL teams are evaluating remaining free agents to round out their rosters. The Dallas Stars have added one such veteran to the mix, signing forward Adam Erne to a professional tryout (PTO) agreement.

Erne, 28, appeared in just 10 games last season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack—the affiliate of the New York Rangers—due to injury, recording one assist during that span. The Michigan native last saw NHL action with the Edmonton Oilers in 2023–24, where he notched two points (one goal, one assist) over 24 games after being recalled from the minors.

Across eight NHL seasons, Erne has accumulated 91 points (41 goals, 50 assists) in 379 career games, spending time with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, and Oilers. He was originally selected 33rd overall by Tampa Bay in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Stay tuned to The Hockey News’ Dallas Stars page for continuing coverage, exclusive interviews, and in-depth analysis throughout camp and the upcoming season.
