2026 Three-Star EDGE Prospect Ends Recruitment, Set to Sign With Syracuse

Kameron Wilson, a 2026 EDGE rusher, announced Thursday that he is shutting down his recruitment and will officially sign with Syracuse this December.

Wilson — committed to the Orange since March — confirmed the news on social media through Rivals. The Miami (FL) Southridge standout, rated a three-star prospect, had continued exploring other opportunities and took official visits to Mississippi State, Nebraska, UCF, and USF.

“Let’s do it,” he wrote on X, adding an orange emoji.

Syracuse Beats Out Nebraska and Florida State

Wilson visited Nebraska on June 6, sparking speculation that the Cornhuskers might flip his commitment. But after Syracuse brought him back for his own official visit later that month, the coaching staff managed to steady the situation.

“The best part was hanging out with Byron,” Wilson told me. “Really great person. I had a great time bonding with the recruits. The coaches talked about the future and how I’d be a great fit, with a chance to play as a true freshman.”

After his visit, Wilson reassured the Orange fanbase:

“Nothing changed,” he said. “Still 100% committed to Syracuse.”

He was also heavily connected to Florida State, but Syracuse ultimately held on to his commitment despite the team’s struggles during the 2025 season.

Wilson Experiences Syracuse Game Day Atmosphere

Wilson visited Central New York in September for Syracuse’s matchup with UConn, giving him a first-hand look at the game day environment. Syracuse trailed 17–6 late in the fourth quarter before rallying to outscore the Huskies 21–3 across regulation and overtime, securing their first win of the year.

“That was the definition of D.A.R.T.,” Wilson said, referencing head coach Fran Brown’s mantra: Detailed, Accountable, Relentless, and Tough. “They came together and played hard for the win.”

During the visit, he also connected with Brown and EDGE coach Nick Williams.

“They’re just telling me I’m next up,” Wilson said. “I’m a great pass rusher coming out of Miami, and I need to be ready to come in and contribute.”

Why Wilson Chose Syracuse

Wilson announced his commitment back in March, choosing Syracuse over a long list of offers that included California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, North Carolina, and NC State, among others.

He said the deciding factor was the trust he built with the Syracuse coaching staff.

“All love there,” Wilson said. “I didn’t waste any time. It just felt right.”
