WASHINGTON — Georgetown University men’s golf head coach Tommy Hunter announced the addition of Gavin Lane and George McGlinn, both of whom have signed athletic scholarships and will join the program.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Gavin and George to our golf family on the Hilltop next fall,” Hunter said. “Both bring extensive national-level experience and have competed at a high level throughout their junior careers. Just as importantly, they are excellent students who truly represent what it means to be student-athletes.”

Lane competed in the 2024 Massachusetts Amateur, becoming the youngest participant to advance to match play. He recorded a top-10 finish in stroke play at the 2024 Massachusetts Junior Amateur after shooting rounds of 70-70 and placed third at the Providence Open with scores of 75-69. He was also selected to the United States Development Program as one of seven boys representing Team Massachusetts.
George McGlinn
Hotchkiss | Lakeville, Conn.
McGlinn captured the 2025 Kerry Cup title in Ireland, finishing first among 80 competitors with rounds of 75-74-71-76. He placed 11th out of 158 at the WA State Junior Amateur and finished fifth among 132 players at the AJGA Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf. McGlinn also took seventh at the Pacific Northwest Junior Boys Amateur, advancing to the match-play quarterfinals, and earned a spot on the 2025 AJGA Scholastic All-American Team.
