Three-Star 2027 Prospect Discusses NC State Offer
With Early National Signing Day for the 2026 class in the rearview mirror, NC State head coach Dave Doeren and his staff have turned their attention to the 2027 recruiting cycle as they continue to expand their recruiting board and evaluate new targets.
One of those targets is a three-star athlete from Utah who recently spoke with NC State on SI about earning an offer from the Wolfpack.
Utah Athlete Reacts to NC State Offer
On Dec. 10, NC State extended an offer to Brawley Maikolo Tuitupou, a three-star athlete from Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah. Tuitupou announced the offer on social media, noting it came after a conversation with wide receivers coach Joker Phillips.
“AGTG! After a great conversation with Coach Joker Phillips I’m extremely humbled and blessed to receive an offer from NC State! Go Wolfpack!” Tuitupou posted.
Tuitupou’s recruitment has picked up steam during the 2025 season, as he has collected offers from multiple Power Four programs. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is rated No. 926 nationally in the 2027 class, the No. 82 athlete overall, and the No. 17 prospect from the state of Utah.
After receiving the offer, Tuitupou shared his thoughts with NC State on SI, expressing how meaningful the opportunity was.
“It feels amazing,” Tuitupou said. “Every offer means a lot, and getting one from a strong program like NC State is especially exciting.”
Recruiting services list Tuitupou as an athlete, and he has the skill set to play either safety or wide receiver at the collegiate level. When asked about his positional preference, he said he currently leans toward offense but remains open to playing on both sides of the ball.
“If you asked me last year, I would’ve said safety without hesitation,” Tuitupou explained. “But as I’ve grown as a receiver and my body has developed, I see myself more at wide receiver in college. That said, I’d still love the chance to contribute on both sides.”
As he continues evaluating schools, Tuitupou emphasized that comfort and development will be central to his decision-making process.
“The biggest things for me are feeling at home and feeling wanted,” he said. “I want to be somewhere that feels right, where I’m treated well and taken care of. Development is huge too — coaches who can really develop my position and help get me to the next level.”
Known for his versatility, Tuitupou would be a strong addition to NC State’s 2027 class. He already has several visits planned for the spring and summer. While a trip to Raleigh isn’t scheduled yet, he noted that it’s something he would consider.
How NC State’s pursuit unfolds remains to be seen, but Tuitupou is clearly a prospect worth keeping a close eye on for the Wolfpack.
