Missing elderly man from Lynchburg found safe.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – UPDATE: The 77-year-old man has been found safe, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

Original Story: The Lynchburg Police Department requested the public’s help in locating a missing elderly man.

Officers were dispatched to Timberlake Road on Sunday, September 8, at 2 p.m. and initiated a search for the man.

Daniel Lewis Witt, 77, is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 185 pounds, with thinning brown hair, according to police.

He was last seen on Saturday, September 7, at 9:00 p.m. His clothing is uncertain, but he may have been wearing a blue polo with white stripes and dark dress pants.

Police consider him endangered due to a potential medical condition affecting his behavior.
