GOOD NEWS!!!San Antonio Spurs Makes Significant Announcement to the Team

KUSA sports anchor Jacob Tobey is departing from the Denver NBC affiliate to become the voice of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.

Tobey will partner with veteran commentator Sean Elliott in the broadcast booth for Spurs games, taking over from longtime announcer Bill Land, who recently retired. He is set to make his debut during the preseason.

“We’re excited to have Jacob join the Spurs family,” said Mike Kickirillo, the Spurs’ senior director of broadcast. “His enthusiasm for the game, along with his broadcasting experience and comprehensive sports knowledge, make him an excellent addition to our team. We’re confident that Spurs fans will quickly appreciate Jacob’s energy and insightful commentary.”

Tobey has been with KUSA since 2020 and has also served as a play-by-play announcer for various networks, including Fox Sports and the PAC-12 Network.
