Wes Moore faces a bit of roster reconstruction this offseason as he navigates the departure of NC State’s accomplished senior class and the transfer of Laci Steele. Steele’s decision to leave isn’t unexpected, given her limited playing time over the past two seasons, and she may not be the only player to move on.
As it stands, NC State has nine players on the roster, including its incoming freshmen.
Current Roster
Freshmen | Sophomores | Juniors | Seniors
Adelaide Jernigan (G) | Zam Jones (G) | Zoe Brooks (G) | …
Destiny Lunan (G) | Devyn Quigley (G) | Maddie Cox (F) | …
Tilda Trygger (C) | Mallory Collier (C) | …
Lorena Awou (C) |
Both incoming freshmen rank among the top 70 recruits, though their immediate impact remains uncertain. NC State will likely look to add at least one guard via the transfer portal, with an evident need at wing and small forward. Maddie Cox is currently the lone player in that role, but given her limited playing time, she could explore other options as well.
While new college roster limits will take effect for the 2025-26 season, they won’t impact women’s basketball, which will still have a 15-player scholarship cap. This means NC State has room to add up to six more scholarship players, though it’s unlikely the team will use all available spots.
