JUST IN: ASU’s Starting Quarterback Sam Leavitt Will Be Unavailable For Saturday’s Game.

Sam Leavitt will not be playing in Saturday’s game, with Jeff Simms starting for the Sun Devils instead.

TEMPE, Arizona. Arizona State’s head coach Kenny Dillingham confirmed today that Jeff Sims will be starting in place of Sam Leavitt for Saturday’s game against Cincinnati.

Leavitt got hurt during the second quarter of the victory against Utah on Friday, but he came back to compete in the remaining half of the game.

Jeff Sims replaced Leavitt and ran for a touchdown. Sims formerly played for Nebraska and Georgia Tech. Simms has passed for a total of 4,759 yards and 31 touchdowns, along with 29 interceptions in 32 career games. Sims has accumulated 1,358 career yards and scored 13 touchdowns through rushing.
