“Historic Milestone: Johnson City’s Own And ETSU Alum Elite Sensation Secures First Professional Save!”

LOS ANGELES (WJHL) — Landon Knack, a Johnson City native and former ETSU Buccaneer pitcher, celebrated another achievement on Tuesday night while pitching for the LA Dodgers.

Recently called up over the weekend, Knack entered the game as a middle reliever rather than a starter. He pitched four scoreless innings, contributing to the Dodgers’ 7-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, marking his first professional save.

The right-hander has a record of 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA over 10 games, having allowed just one run on three hits while striking out two and not walking anyone.

“It feels great to help out the team and give those guys a little break, as they log a lot of innings as consistent workhorses throughout the season. To step in and provide relief, even if just for a night, is a rewarding feeling. It’s important to fill that long-relief role and support the team,” Knack commented.

This summer, Knack has pitched 48 innings in the big leagues, giving up 36 hits while recording 44 strikeouts and 12 walks.
