Dak Prescott Shares His Enthusiasm for New Cowboys Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer
Dak Prescott is looking forward to working under the leadership of new Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Cowboys quarterback shared his thoughts during the 35th annual Children’s Cancer Fund event in Dallas on Friday night, where he was joined by franchise legends Tony Romo and Troy Aikman.
While speaking with reporters at the event, Prescott touched on a number of topics, including his physical condition, injury recovery, and most notably, the team’s future under Schottenheimer.
Prescott emphasized his familiarity with Schottenheimer, who has spent the past three seasons with the Cowboys in various roles, including offensive coordinator and consultant. He expressed genuine excitement about Schottenheimer’s promotion and commended his leadership style and unifying influence.

“It hasn’t taken any major conversations—just his direction and the vision he has for this offense and team,” Prescott said. “It’s evident throughout the organization, from the coaches he’s brought in to the way he’s gotten everyone aligned and working toward the same goals.”
Schottenheimer’s ability to clearly communicate his strategy and bring cohesion to the team has earned praise, especially after initial skepticism surrounding his hire. According to Prescott, that clarity and leadership are key reasons he believes the Cowboys are moving in a promising direction.
