Eagles-Steelers Wild Trade Chatter Has Picked Up

Eagles-Steelers Trade Rumors Heating Up
Could the Eagles be preparing for a blockbuster trade?

Whenever a star player hits the rumor mill, the Philadelphia Eagles somehow always seem to be part of the conversation. With Howie Roseman’s aggressive approach as GM and a stash of draft picks at their disposal, Philly is often seen as a major player in trade talks. While their current cap space sits just above $22 million leading up to the NFL Draft, speculation continues to swirl around a potential big-name acquisition.

Earlier in the offseason, Myles Garrett was mentioned as a possible target before re-signing with the Browns. Now, buzz is growing around another AFC North standout: Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt.

A cryptic social media post by Watt recently sparked a wave of speculation, as is often the case in today’s NFL where online activity can quickly ignite trade rumors. Andrew Vasquez of Steelers Wire included Philadelphia on a list of five potential destinations if the Steelers were to deal Watt.

Vasquez noted that while trading Watt would be painful for Pittsburgh, it could make sense if the team isn’t in playoff contention by the 2025 trade deadline. The Eagles, with their young and relatively unproven edge rushers, might view Watt as a game-changing addition for another Super Bowl push—possibly offering a major trade package in return.
