The Cowboys add another receiver out of the transfer portal in Marshall’s Christian Fitzpatrick.
Oklahoma State’s depth at wide receiver is on the rise.
The Cowboys have added Marshall transfer Christian Fitzpatrick, according to sources from 247Sports. Before joining Marshall, he played at Louisville and Michigan State.
A native of Michigan, Fitzpatrick recorded 576 yards and six touchdowns on 34 receptions during his redshirt junior year in 2024. He also had 73 yards and a touchdown in the Thundering Herd’s game against Virginia Tech last season.
The 6-foot-4 wide receiver visited Oklahoma State last week before checking out Virginia Tech this weekend.
“I really admire the history of the offense that will be implemented this upcoming year,” Fitzpatrick told Go Pokes, highlighting what impressed him about Oklahoma State.
There was a need for additional receivers after Oklahoma State’s redshirt junior Talyn Shettron sustained an injury last week and “will be out for a while,” according to head coach Mike Gundy. Last Wednesday, Oklahoma State also welcomed receiver Cameron Abshire from Emory & Henry.
During the winter transfer portal window, the Cowboys brought in three wide receivers: Purdue transfer Shamar Rigby, Nebraska transfer Jaylen Lloyd, and Auburn transfer Sam Jackson V.
