Ohio State Head Coach Makes Strong Statement Following Defeat to Oregon.

Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes will be back in action this week after having a bye week.

The off week arrived at a convenient moment. Ohio State experienced a devastating defeat against the Oregon Ducks in their previous away game. It’s a setback that is expected to increase the team’s motivation even further.

Having said all of that, Day boldly commented on the loss to Oregon. He is clearly driven and he feels terrible that the Buckeyes fell short.

He also disclosed that Ohio State submitted the last play of the game to the NCAA. Day sensed that there was still one second remaining on the clock and believed that he and wide receiver Brandon Iniss both called for a timeout as soon as Will Howard went down.

We forwarded it. “Day mentioned that they had run out of time,” Day reported. Brandon (Iniss) was requesting a break in the game. I was beside the referee as he called for a timeout. It is visible on the coach’s duplicate. They mentioned that time was up. As the head coach, it is my responsibility to ensure that if we are in that situation again, we come out victorious in the game. Believe me, I was the hardest worker and felt the worst after that game than anyone else. I will do my best to ensure that it’s correct.

It is evident that he is still bothered by the fact that his team narrowly missed success. However, he accepted the loss and is now prepared to progress.

This week, the Buckeyes will aim to recover effectively by facing off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Ohio State will face Nebraska before heading to another important away game.

Following the competition this week, the Buckeyes will travel to face the third-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. It is a game that Day and his team must figure out how to win.

When it comes to being eliminated from the College Football Playoff race, they are not in a precarious situation. Yet, having a resume that includes defeats against Oregon and Penn State could add intrigue. If Ohio State wins all of their remaining games, there is no doubt they would qualify.

With all that said, fans need to prepare for the exciting end of the season. Many significant games are on the horizon, but everything begins this weekend against the Cornhuskers.

The Buckeyes remain disappointed by their defeat against the Ducks, however, they are determined to bounce back and there are many valuable lessons they can take from the disappointing outcome.
