Bengals Re-sign Former Falcons QB Logan Woodside
The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Logan Woodside, adding him to a quarterback room already featuring Joe Burrow and Jake Browning. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Woodside spent the 2024 season with the Bengals.
Woodside first joined the Falcons in December 2022, when Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith, who had worked with Woodside in Tennessee, brought him in from the Titans’ practice squad. Woodside had been drafted by Tennessee in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and Smith had served as his offensive coordinator in 2020.
Over his time with the Falcons, Woodside appeared in just two games across two seasons. In 2022, he saw limited action with no stats recorded, and in 2023, he played in Atlanta’s season finale against the New Orleans Saints.
During that game, Woodside led the Falcons’ final two drives, completing 3 of 4 passes for 27 yards and an interception, while also rushing once for six yards. It was only his second career regular season game with passing attempts, the first coming in 2020 with the Titans, where he went 1 of 3 for 7 yards.
For his career, Woodside has completed 4 of 7 passes for 34 yards. Throughout his tenure, he’s mostly been a backup or third-string quarterback.
At 30 years old, Woodside now returns to a backup role with the Bengals, where he’ll serve as a reserve behind Burrow and Browning.
