NC State Football Makes Final Five for Georgia Linebacker

NC State football appears to be a strong contender for the commitment of Chad Fairchild, a linebacker from Lovejoy High School in Georgia. Although the Wolfpack’s 2026 recruiting class is still small, with only four pledges so far, head coach Dave Doeren and his staff are actively pursuing more talent. The latest sign of progress comes as NC State makes the final list for one of their top targets.

On Tuesday, Fairchild announced his top five schools on social media, and NC State remains in the running. The Wolfpack are competing against Georgia Tech, Kansas, Marshall, and Mississippi State for the four-star recruit’s services.

At 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, Fairchild has already visited NC State’s facilities multiple times and has scheduled an official visit with the team for June. With more than 20 offers in total, Fairchild narrowed his choices down to just a few contenders.

Currently, NC State’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 64 nationally and No. 15 in the ACC, according to 247Sports.
