Maryland Terrapins Hit with Huge Mega Update

Maryland may target St. John’s transfer with Buzz Williams connections

As the Maryland Terrapins work to rebuild their roster for the upcoming season, a promising player with connections to Buzz Williams has entered the transfer portal. After a full offseason focused on rebuilding, Williams and the Terrapins are actively seeking to address key gaps through transfers. While they’ve made some solid acquisitions so far, the work isn’t done yet.

On Friday, a noteworthy prospect, Simeon Wilcher, joined the transfer portal after two seasons at St. John’s. The 6-4, 180-pound guard, who averaged 8.0 points per game last season under coach Rick Pitino, is now looking for a new team. Interestingly, Wilcher’s brother, CJ Wilcher, played for Buzz Williams at Texas A&M last season as a graduate student.

This offseason, Williams has already secured eight transfers, including four guards: Andre Mills (Texas A&M), Myles Rice (Indiana), David Coit (Kansas), and Isaiah Watts (Washington State).

Given Wilcher’s East Coast roots (he’s from New Jersey) and his connection to Williams, a move to Maryland could be an ideal fit.
