Will this sway the series in favor of the Avalanche?
The Dallas Stars are facing tough news ahead of their first-round playoff matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. Star forward Jason Robertson was spotted leaving Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night with a brace on his right knee, raising concerns about the seriousness of his injury and his availability for Game 1, or possibly longer.
The injury happened during Dallas’ last regular-season game against the Nashville Predators. Following the 7-4 defeat, head coach Pete DeBoer expressed his frustration about the way the season concluded.
“The intention behind resting players during the final stretch was to prevent injuries, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to do that with Robertson’s situation. It’s been a tough night,” DeBoer said.
Even after losing their last seven games, the Stars decided against resting key forwards during that period, including in Game 82 when the team fielded a full lineup. Now, as the playoffs approach, that choice may be causing them regrets.
No Official Update on Robertson Until Friday
There was no official update regarding Robertson’s injury or status after the game, and DeBoer acknowledged he had no information to share. However, Robertson’s visible discomfort while leaving the arena and the presence of a brace indicate that the injury could be serious.
The Stars have a break on Friday, with their next practice set for Saturday morning. An update on Robertson’s condition is anticipated then.
Dallas will require their full roster as they gear up to take on a formidable Avalanche squad, and losing Robertson—one of their key offensive players—would be a significant setback. The 24-year-old was the team’s leading scorer during the regular season and plays an essential role in the Stars’ top six forwards.
