Big Boost: Good News, Oregon State Confirm Major Addition to Roster
Last weekend, Oregon State welcomed four prospects for their homecoming game against UNLV. Despite the loss, it appears the recruits were still impressed, as the Beavers secured two commitments in the past week, including flipping 3-Star defensive lineman Nik Fisher from Texas State.
Fisher, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound player from Cy Ranch (TX) Cypress, was highly impressed by his visit.
“The visit was fantastic overall,” he said. “Meeting my host, Josh Patterson, and being able to ask questions during our drive back from Portland was really enjoyable. I got to meet Coach Bray, Coach Tuiaki, JR, Todd, Hayward, and the entire staff, who all demonstrated their expertise. The game day atmosphere and crowd energy stood out to me, as did the impressive practice facilities. Watching the team play hard was the highlight.”
Although Fisher didn’t have an offer before his official visit, OSU quickly extended one during his time there.
“I felt honored,” he shared. “It’s a university known for its excellent coaches, talented players, and a solid track record of advancing athletes to the next level. The community support is outstanding too.”
Last season, in five games, Fisher tallied 25 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.
“What I love most about Oregon State is the coaching staff, the strong bonds among the players, and the game day energy,” he noted. “I understand Coach Bray’s vision for the program and how he connects with the team.”
Fisher is now the third recruit from Texas for Oregon State, joining defensive backs David Madison and Zephen Walker.
The welcoming atmosphere in Corvallis played a key role in Fisher’s decision to switch his commitment from the Bobcats in his home state.
“The coaches, staff, team, campus, and community—everything feels like home,” Fisher told BeaverBlitz.
With his commitment, Fisher becomes the highest-rated prospect in OSU’s 2025 class, surpassing Trey Glasper, and he plans to join the team in June without enrolling early.
