Texas A&M Aggies Reach Out to Boise State Star Linebacker

As the Aggies prepare for their annual Maroon and White spring game, they are also keeping an eye on the transfer portal. With the portal’s spring window now open, players have one last chance to make a move before the upcoming season.
After a busy winter transfer period in which Texas A&M added significant depth to positions like wide receiver and defensive back, there aren’t many glaring holes left on the roster. However, that hasn’t stopped the Aggies from exploring possible additions if the right fit comes along.
One potential addition is Andrew Simpson, the Boise State linebacker who recently entered the portal after three solid seasons with the Broncos. According to ON3.com’s Hayes Fawcett, Simpson has already attracted interest from several programs, including Texas A&M.
Fawcett’s tweet revealed that Simpson has been contacted by 22 teams since entering the portal, with the Aggies being part of the group alongside other programs like USC, Penn State, and North Carolina.
Simpson is coming off a standout season at Boise State, where he recorded 46 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception. He also forced three fumbles, tying for the most in the Mountain West Conference.
While the Aggies’ inside linebacker positions are well-stocked with returning players like Taurean York and Scooby Williams, the team may still consider Simpson if there is mutual interest and the coaching staff believes he could be a good fit for the roster.
