Michigan Adds Another Transfer Portal Running Back
After signing UMass running back CJ Hester following their spring game over the weekend, Michigan has now added another transfer to their backfield. On Monday, the Wolverines signed senior running back John Volker from Princeton.
Volker, standing 6-0 and weighing 215 pounds, rushed for 514 yards and six touchdowns in the 2024 season.
He and Hester will join a deep running back room at Michigan, which already features standout players like Jordan Marshall and Justice Haynes. Additionally, the Wolverines have options like Micah Ka’apana, Donovan Johnson, and Bryson Kuzdzal in the mix.

Given Michigan’s traditional run-first offensive approach, it’s likely the team will rotate several backs throughout the 2025 season. However, with Marshall and Haynes leading the charge, it may be challenging for the other players to see significant playing time.
