Latest News: Top Insights As Florida improved its chances with Cincinnati OL Gifted Sensation

The Florida Gators hosted four official visitors two weeks ago during their game against Kentucky in the Swamp.

Among those visitors was Jahari Medlock, a Cincinnati offensive line commit from Riverdale, GA, who stands 6-6 and weighs 278 pounds. He thoroughly enjoyed his weekend in Gainesville.

“The visit went really well,” Medlock shared about his experience at Florida for the Kentucky game. “They showed me around the campus and facilities. We attended the game, which we all enjoyed, and then left for dinner at halftime where we had hibachi—it was a fantastic experience. We returned for the rest of the game, and afterward, I hung out with the players.”

Medlock had ample time with the coaching staff, particularly offensive line coach John Decoster.

“On Sunday, I had a few meetings with the coaches and even took pictures in their uniforms,” he mentioned. “I spent most of my time with Coach Decoster.”

Decoster and the coaching staff conveyed to Medlock how much they need him in Gainesville and how he would fit into their vision for the program.

“The coaches told me they love my playing style and work ethic,” Medlock said regarding their message. “They believe I would be a valuable asset, seeing me as a strong left tackle with a unique mindset.”

This was Medlock’s first visit to Gainesville, and he felt the Gators boosted their standing with him over the weekend.

“They significantly improved their chances with me, and they’re now very high on my list,” he stated about Florida’s appeal. “They have an excellent program and numerous resources to enhance players’ lives after graduation.”

Currently, Florida is his primary competitor against Cincinnati as Medlock aims to finish his senior year strong.

“At the moment, I don’t have any other visits planned,” he explained. “I haven’t decided on an exact date for my final choice yet.”
