Boise State Freshman Wide Receiver Enters Transfer Portal

Tyrone Jackson, a freshman wide receiver who redshirted last season, has become the latest Boise State player to enter the transfer portal. Jackson shared the news on X (formerly Twitter).

“Thank you Boise State for everything you’ve done this past year,” Jackson wrote. “I have entered my name into the NCAA transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.”

Before joining Boise State, Jackson played at Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco. He was a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 87 overall player in California in the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2024 class.

Jackson chose Boise State over offers from schools such as Iowa State, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington State, and others.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 183 pounds, Jackson did not see playing time last season as the Broncos finished with a 12-2 record and made their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.

Jackson is the fourth wide receiver from Boise State to enter the transfer portal since the 2024 season ended. Starter Prince Strachan transferred to USC, while Jackson Grier (to Appalachian State) and Zamondre Merriweather also joined the portal.
