Iowa Hawkeyes QB Transfers to Tulane

The Iowa Hawkeyes have lost a 2024 starting quarterback to the transfer portal as Brendan Sullivan has committed to Tulane.

Sullivan, who appeared in 10 games for Iowa, completed 71.7% of his passes for 475 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed for 150 yards and four touchdowns on 47 carries. While Sullivan started three games for the Hawkeyes, he will now look to potentially start at Tulane.

With Sullivan’s departure, Iowa is expected to turn to Mark Gronowski, a transfer addition, as their starting quarterback for the 2025 season. Gronowski completed 60.9% of his passes for 2,721 yards, 23 touchdowns, and seven interceptions at his previous school, along with rushing for 380 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Although losing Sullivan weakens the quarterback depth, he was unlikely to remain the starter given the arrival of Gronowski. This marks Sullivan’s third college program, having previously played at Northwestern and Iowa before transferring to Tulane.
