Purdue Boilermakers Hit Mega Big News Via Transfer Portal

Purdue added two more players via the transfer portal on Tuesday, landing defensive backs An’Darius Coffey (Memphis) and Traveon Wright (Mississippi State).

Purdue continues to bolster its roster through the transfer portal, adding a pair of defensive backs on Tuesday for the 2025 season. An’Darius Coffey and Traveon Wright both announced their commitments to the Boilermakers this week.

Coffey, a veteran presence, joins Purdue after five seasons at Memphis. He began his collegiate career in 2020 but was sidelined in 2021 due to injury. Over his time with the Tigers, Coffey appeared in 46 games, tallying 48 tackles (3.5 for loss), three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He arrives in West Lafayette with one year of eligibility remaining.

Wright, meanwhile, brings a younger profile. A redshirt sophomore, he started out at Memphis before transferring to Mississippi State for the 2024 season. He saw action in just one game with the Bulldogs and will now head to Purdue with three years of eligibility left.

Under head coach Barry Odom, the Boilermakers have been aggressive in the portal following spring practice, bringing in 20 transfers to strengthen the roster and address key needs ahead of the upcoming season.
