Big News For the Purdue Boilermakers Basketball

Kinda cool that the Boilermakers have their entire non-conference schedule set and announced already, to be honest

Purdue men’s basketball revealed their 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Tuesday morning, May 6, which is earlier than usual as we typically wait until late June for Marquette’s schedule announcement. Kudos to Purdue and head coach Matt Painter for this timely update!

As for the matchups, we know Marquette will be visiting Purdue after they hosted the Boilermakers and secured a 76-58 victory in Milwaukee last November. The return game at Mackey Arena is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th. This timing likely means that the Marquette-Purdue game will have a good television slot, falling just after college football’s Championship Saturday and a week before the College Football Playoff first round games.

Historically, the series is heavily in favor of Purdue, with the Boilermakers winning 11 of the 13 encounters. Mackey Arena has proven difficult for the Golden Eagles; they’ve only secured wins in the series at Fiserv Forum.

We won’t get into a preview of Purdue just yet as we await finalized transfer portal rosters. However, it’s worth noting that Purdue finished the previous season with their fourth consecutive season of 24 or more wins, so it’s reasonable to expect that head coach Matt Painter will have a similarly strong team next year. Check back in July for more updates!
