Colin Cowherd Claims Seahawks Rookie Jalen Milroe is More Athletic Than Lamar Jackson
Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd recently shared his bold opinion on Seattle Seahawks rookie Jalen Milroe, suggesting that the Alabama quarterback may be more athletic than Lamar Jackson. Milroe, drafted by the Seahawks in the third round at No. 92 overall, is known for his explosive athleticism, and Cowherd believes he might be the most physically gifted quarterback he has ever seen, pound for pound, even surpassing Jackson.
During the Russell Wilson era, the Seahawks were rumored to have interest in a number of athletic quarterback prospects, including Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Anthony Richardson, and Sam Darnold. Though they eventually brought in Darnold, this year, Seattle couldn’t resist taking a shot on Milroe, who fits the mold of a boom-or-bust type of athlete at quarterback.
Should #Seahawks QB Jalen Milroe be getting snaps in his rookie year?
"He's maybe the best pound-for-pound athlete I've ever seen at quarterback, including Lamar Jackson," says @colincowherd to @BrockHuard and @TheMikeSalk.

While no college player is guaranteed success at the next level, Milroe’s raw athletic ability is undeniable. Cowherd’s remarks have raised eyebrows, especially when comparing Milroe to Jackson, who has been one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in NFL history. However, as talented as Milroe is, it’s still early to make such a comparison, especially given that Milroe has yet to play a snap in the NFL.
Milroe enters the league as an exceptional rushing threat with a powerful arm, but the real challenge will be whether he can refine his overall game while maintaining his unique athleticism. Although Cowherd’s comparison to Jackson might be a stretch, it’s hard to ignore the potential that Milroe brings to Seattle’s quarterback room.
With Geno Smith already established as a solid starter, the addition of Darnold gives Seattle a more athletic backup option, and Milroe is arguably the most physically gifted quarterback the team has ever drafted. Additionally, Drew Lock, while not as dynamic as the others, still possesses decent athleticism. All things considered, the Seahawks now boast one of the most athletic quarterback groups in the NFL.
