The Cleveland Guardians may be eyeing a trade for a Boston Red Sox outfielder amid Boston’s surplus of outfield talent.

With the Red Sox facing a glut of outfielders and growing pressure to promote top prospect Roman Anthony, Cleveland could be well-positioned to take advantage of Boston’s positional squeeze.

In a recent article, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller pointed out Boston’s outfield dilemma, stating, “Boston has an enviable logjam on its hands: too many outfielders worthy of everyday playing time… Could they move (Ceddanne) Rafaela?”

Rafaela, a 24-year-old outfielder, signed an eight-year, $50 million contract extension with the Red Sox in 2024. Last season, he hit .246/.274/.390
