Ravens Add Veteran DT John Jenkins to Defensive Line
The Baltimore Ravens are strengthening their defensive line with some experienced depth as the 2025 offseason progresses.
The team has officially signed former Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle John Jenkins to a one-year deal. This marks Jenkins’ seventh NFL team as he enters his 13th season in the league.
At 35 years old, Jenkins played in all 34 regular-season games for the Raiders over the last two seasons, starting in each. During that time, he accumulated 107 total tackles (37 solo), two sacks, six pass deflections, and even returned a fumble 44 yards for a touchdown.
Jenkins was originally a third-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2013 NFL Draft and has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and New York Giants.
This signing follows the retirement of defensive tackle Michael Pierce, who worked with the Ravens to structure his retirement post-June 1. This move allowed Baltimore to clear $2 million in roster and workout bonuses while freeing up $745,000 in cap space now and an additional $1.255 million after June 1.
The Ravens will kick off their preseason on August 7 with a home game against the Indianapolis Colts, before traveling to face the Dallas Cowboys in their final preseason matchup. Baltimore’s 2025 regular season will begin with a Sunday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
