Lonzo Ball Sends Heartfelt Message to Chicago Bulls

Lonzo Ball Shares Gratitude Toward Chicago Bulls in Emotional Message

Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball recently expressed his deep appreciation for the team during a podcast appearance, reflecting on his journey back to basketball after battling multiple knee surgeries that kept him sidelined for over two years.

In an appearance on the Straight to Cam podcast with Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink, Ball took a moment to acknowledge the Bulls’ unwavering support during his lengthy recovery, especially when many doubted he would return to the court. He thanked the organization for standing by him through the toughest times.

“If you have a good organization that supports you and lets you heal, that’s huge,” Ball shared. “Shoutout to the Bulls for that because when I was going through it, a lot of teams could have pushed me aside and written me off. But they stuck with me all the way through.”

Ball also discussed the challenging nature of his comeback, emphasizing the difficult and often uncertain process of recovering from injury. “It’s never a smooth process coming back. The work you put in as a kid and all the repetition is important. For people who don’t know, it’s kind of like being stuck in limbo.”

This season, Ball made 14 starts in 35 games for the Bulls, averaging 7.6 points and 3.3 assists per game. Prior to his knee issues, he had appeared in 35 games during the 2021-22 season.

In February, Ball signed a two-year, $20 million extension with the Bulls. While he was on a minutes restriction this past season, it appears he will have an increased role moving forward, as long as he stays healthy.
