Five Recruits to Watch for Early National Signing Day

Billy Napier and the Florida football program have been making significant strides in recruiting, flipping 11 recruits in just 15 days. With National Early Signing Day approaching on Wednesday, the Gators are focusing on a few key players to further strengthen their 2025 class.

Here are five recruits that Florida is targeting for the upcoming signing day:

1. Lagonza Hayward – Decommitted from Tennessee
   Hayward, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound four-star safety from Lyons, Georgia, decommitted from Tennessee on Sunday. Ranked as the No. 9 safety in the country, he is now predicted to join Florida. Known as an explosive three-phase playmaker, Hayward could be the second safety to commit to UF in consecutive days, following Hylton Stubbs’ flip from Miami.
2. Jaime Ffrench – Texas Commit
   Ffrench, a five-star receiver, has been a target since his high school teammate Trammel Jones flipped from FSU to Florida. Standing at 6-1 and 185 pounds, Ffrench is ranked the No. 7 receiver nationally. Over four years at Mandarin High, he accumulated 149 catches, 2,655 yards, and 23 touchdowns. His skills make him a versatile option for Florida’s passing attack.
3. Dallas Wilson – Oregon Commit
   Wilson, another highly-rated receiver from Tampa Bay Tech, is 6-3 and 195 pounds. With 128 catches for 2,417 yards and 28 touchdowns in three seasons, he ranks as the No. 21 recruit in the nation. Known for his size, hands, and speed, Wilson has the potential to become an impact player for Florida. He visited the school in November and is seen as a key target for the Gators.
4. Solomon Thomas – FSU Commit
   A standout offensive lineman from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Thomas is a five-star recruit and the No. 24 prospect nationally. At 6-4, 315 pounds, he’s highly valued for his ability to strengthen Florida’s offensive line. Thomas is particularly suited for an offensive system focused on gap and inside-zone concepts, making him a priority for the Gators.
5. DJ Pickett – LSU Commit
   Pickett, a 6-4, 178-pound cornerback from Zephyrhills High, is ranked as the No. 1 player in Florida and No. 3 nationally among cornerbacks. With 10 career interceptions, Pickett is known for his rare combination of length and speed. He visited Florida in November and remains one of the Gators’ top in-state targets, with expectations that he could be a first-round NFL draft pick.

These recruits represent significant potential for Florida’s 2025 class, and the Gators will look to secure their commitments as National Signing Day approaches.
