Auburn Tigers Among Top Contenders for Four-Star Linebacker
The Auburn Tigers continue to make a strong impression on four-star linebacker Adam Balogoun-Ali as he visits various programs during his recruitment process. Balogoun-Ali, a linebacker from Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach, Florida, is part of the 2026 recruiting class. His recent visit to Auburn was the first of several planned trips to his top four schools.
Along with Auburn, Balogoun-Ali is considering the Kentucky Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Oklahoma Sooners for his commitment. After visiting Auburn, he plans to visit North Carolina on May 30, followed by Oklahoma on June 6, and will wrap up his trips with Kentucky on June 13.
Balogoun-Ali came away impressed from his Auburn visit. “It was great,” he said. “They really emphasized how much of a priority I am, especially in the linebacker room. Coach (D.J.) Durkin being both the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach is a huge plus. He went over his defensive scheme with me, and I think it’s something I can definitely fit into.”
Durkin’s recent contract extension adds a layer of stability to Auburn’s program, reassuring recruits like Balogoun-Ali that their future coaches will be there for the long haul.
In 2024, Balogoun-Ali recorded 56 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks, while also contributing on offense as a wide receiver, according to 247Sports. His athleticism is attracting programs like Auburn, who are looking to rebuild their roster after losing 28 players last season. As the Tigers enter year three of the Hugh Freeze Era, building through strong recruiting and the transfer portal is essential for Auburn’s future success.
