Pittsburgh-Titans Trade Proposal Has Steelers Land QB from Tennessee Titans

Pittsburgh Steelers Trade Proposal: QB Will Levis from Tennessee Titans

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently facing a quarterback competition for the 2025 season, with Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and Will Howard set to battle for the starting job. Combined, these three quarterbacks have just 21 NFL starts.

There have been ongoing rumors connecting the Steelers to Aaron Rodgers, but the veteran QB remains undecided about his future. At some point, Pittsburgh may need to stop waiting for Rodgers to make up his mind and take action.

Enter the Tennessee Titans. If Rodgers doesn’t join the Steelers, Pittsburgh is unlikely to find a proven starter with a strong recent track record this offseason. This could lead them to consider a potential upside play, such as trading for Will Levis, the former second-round pick of the Titans.

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report proposed a trade where the Steelers acquire Levis in exchange for a Day 3 draft pick.

“Regardless of Aaron Rodgers’ decision to play for the Steelers or retire, Pittsburgh should offer a fourth-round pick for Levis,” Moton wrote. “Rodgers will turn 42 in December, and at this point, he’s a year-to-year player. Levis has two years left on his rookie deal.”

Moton added that if the Steelers finish the 2025 season with a mediocre record and Rodgers only plays one year, they would at least have a young, experienced quarterback like Levis to develop for the future. At 25, Levis offers more upside compared to Mason Rudolph, who has mainly been a game manager during his seven-year career.

Levis has yet to meet expectations with the Titans, especially after they selected Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick last month. However, Levis’ arm strength and potential still make him an intriguing prospect for a team like Pittsburgh. A fourth-round pick could be a relatively low cost for a quarterback with starting potential.
