Four decades after wrapping up his prolific UNC basketball career, Brad Daugherty is joining another broadcast team as an analyst.
Brad Daugherty isn’t leaving his role as the lead Cleveland Cavaliers analyst for FanDuel Sports Network, but the 59-year-old former UNC basketball standout is expanding his broadcasting duties. He’s officially joining the NBA on NBC team.
“Excited to share that I’ll be part of the [NBA on NBC] crew for the 2025-26 season,” Daugherty shared in a social media post last week. “Fired up for this next chapter…”
A native of North Carolina, Brad Daugherty spent four seasons playing for legendary UNC basketball coach Dean Smith in the mid-1980s.
During his senior year in 1985-86, Daugherty posted averages of 20.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, earning consensus All-American honors and making the All-ACC First Team for the second time.
He was selected No. 1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1986 NBA Draft. Over eight seasons—all with the Cavaliers—Daugherty appeared in 548 games, averaging 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest, and earned five NBA All-Star selections.
