Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers Push Knicks to the Edge

The New York Knicks’ playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after their Game 4 loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

If the Knicks are to make it to the NBA Finals, they’ll need more than just a single comeback this time.

Tyrese Haliburton delivered a stellar all-around performance, leading the Pacers to a 130-121 victory over New York at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday night, putting Indiana one win away from securing a Finals berth.

Haliburton finished with 32 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds in the crucial win, which was witnessed by his father, John. The elder Haliburton’s usual absence from the arena was lifted for this game, as he watched from a luxury suite.

With the Pacers now up 3-1 in the series, they’re on the verge of reaching their first NBA Finals since 2000. The Knicks, on the other hand, will need to pull off a rare comeback from a 3-1 deficit, a feat they’ve never accomplished in franchise history. Their closest attempt came in the 1995 conference semifinals, where they pushed the series to a Game 7 but ultimately lost.

Game 5 shifts back to New York, with Madison Square Garden set to host the next contest on Thursday night (8 pm ET, TNT).
