‘Big Loss’ as Talented Beavers Commit Flips to Oregon Ducks
On a busy early National Signing Day, the Oregon Ducks made a significant move by flipping a local football star from their rivals, Oregon State. Wilsonville quarterback Mark Wiepert, who recently threw 8 touchdown passes in the Class 5A state championship, signed with Oregon on Wednesday. Originally committed to the Beavers for baseball, Wiepert ultimately decided to join Oregon’s football program. It remains unclear whether he will also play baseball for the Ducks.
Wiepert, a three-star prospect ranked as the No. 12 player in Oregon by 247Sports, had a standout season. The Ducks had an eventful signing day, with nine other 2025 recruits also committing before Wiepert finalized his decision.
