Duke Basketball Star Poised for NBA Draft After Huge Milestone

Duke Basketball Star Kon Knueppel Earns Invite to NBA Draft in Brooklyn

Duke basketball standout Kon Knueppel has earned an invite to the prestigious NBA Draft green room at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center later this month, marking a major milestone in his career.

Knueppel is one of just 13 players selected for this honor, joining Duke teammates Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach, who also received invites. Together, the trio represents nearly 25% of the total invites to the green room, highlighting their prominence in the draft conversation. The invite-only event will take place on June 25-26.

The 6-foot-7 Knueppel, a key player for Duke, is widely expected to be a lottery pick, potentially going as high as the top five. The reigning ACC Tournament MVP, Knueppel averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 40.6% from beyond the arc. His poise and playmaking ability have consistently stood out throughout the season.

Additionally, former Duke guards Sion James and Tyrese Proctor, both projected to be mid-to-late second-round picks, could increase the number of Blue Devils selected in the 2024 NBA Draft.
