Traditionally, the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds are fierce rivals on the baseball field, often vying for playoff spots in the National League Central. However, in 2024, both teams fell short of the postseason, with the Cubs finishing in third place and the Reds in fourth.
Now, both teams have emerged as strong candidates to pursue one of the top starting pitchers on the MLB trade market.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi has reported that the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds are viewed as “viable candidates” to trade for Garrett Crochet, the ace from the Chicago White Sox.
After an offseason of rest and recovery, Crochet’s trade value has reached its peak, and the White Sox may be looking to take advantage of the opportunity.
