The Auburn Tigers and Head Coach Hugh Freeze have encountered significant challenges in recruiting over the past week.
In today’s college sports landscape, commitments are less binding than ever, with players frequently decommitting and recommitting as casually as they change their socks.
Recently, the Tigers have been affected by this trend, as three recruits from the upcoming class either backed out of their commitments or switched to different schools.
JaMichael Garrett, a four-star linebacker from Gulf Shores, decommitted from the class a few weeks ago, and recently Mobile native Shadarius Toodle switched his commitment to Georgia over the weekend.
Adding to the situation, four-star wide receiver Devin Carter also changed his commitment and will now be joining Florida State.
Although there are still several months until signing day, the Tigers have dropped out of the top 80 in recruiting rankings.
Auburn is not without hope, but Hugh Freeze must secure significant victories this fall both on the field and in recruiting to regain momentum.
