Steelers Go All In on Super Bowl Run
The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially in Super Bowl contention.
After sending All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick back to the Miami Dolphins, the Steelers have made it clear: they’re going all in. This trade, which brought cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh, marks the team’s second major move this offseason, and with it, they’ve transitioned from “building to contend” to “all-in” mode.
With Aaron Rodgers now leading the charge, the Steelers aren’t wasting any time. They didn’t make these moves with the expectation of a 9-8 season. Instead, they firmly believe they can be true Super Bowl contenders this year, and they’re fully committed to a championship push in 2025.
The Steelers know the fanbase is restless with their lack of postseason success and, like the city itself, they’re craving a championship. To make that happen, they’ve been willing to part with assets to strengthen their roster. Trading George Pickens for DK Metcalf opened up space for fresh talent, and Ramsey and Smith are seen as key pieces to fill their remaining gaps.
It’s likely they’re not finished yet. A wide receiver upgrade is still a possibility, and waiting to see if Roman Wilson pans out might not be the quickest solution. At the rate Pittsburgh is moving, anything could happen at any time.
Additionally, securing an extension for T.J. Watt seems inevitable. It’s surprising it hasn’t happened yet, but it’s clear they aren’t going all-in without their star player locked up.
The Steelers are determined to end their playoff win drought, compete for a Super Bowl, and break free from their traditional approach. They’re ready to win now, and with their aggressive moves, it’s clear there’s more to come.
