Lamar Jackson Sends Warning to NFL Defenses
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to grow more confident, and that’s bad news for opposing defenses.
Jackson has been a nightmare for defenses throughout his career, thanks to his unique ability to both run and throw the ball at an elite level. If he says he’s becoming even more comfortable in the league, defenders have every reason to be worried.
In a recent interview on Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls podcast, Jackson shared just how much his game has evolved.
“As I’ve been getting older in the league, my mindset has been different, and the game has gotten a lot easier for me,” Jackson said.
The 28-year-old is coming off the best season of his career, throwing for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns with just four interceptions. His passer rating of 119.6 ranked as the fourth-highest single-season mark in NFL history, trailing only Peyton Manning (2004), Aaron Rodgers (2011 and 2020), all MVPs. Though he didn’t win the MVP—narrowly losing to Josh Allen—his performance was nothing short of spectacular.
On the ground, Jackson rushed for 915 yards and four touchdowns, setting the record for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback, surpassing Michael Vick.
Individually, Jackson has achieved almost everything a player could hope for. The one thing still missing is a Super Bowl ring, and that’s a constant point of focus for both fans and analysts.
However, Jackson is optimistic about his chances this year.
“We’re extremely close,” he said, hinting that 2025 could finally be the year he brings home a championship.
