One Texas A&M prospect may have just dropped a bombshell.
Texas A\&M is putting together an outstanding defensive haul in its 2026 recruiting class. Since the beginning of July, the Aggies have secured pledges from four-star linebackers Tank King and DaQuives Beck, along with four-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright.
Head coach Mike Elko’s strong recruiting momentum has caught the attention of five-star two-way lineman Lamar Brown, who is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 10. His final four schools are LSU, Texas, Texas A\&M, and Miami.
Following Perry-Wright’s commitment, Brown took to X to hint at his own decision, tagging Perry-Wright, five-star edge rusher Tristan Givens, four-star defensive lineman Jermaine Kinsler, and four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter—all current Texas A\&M commits.
“Let’s team up and run the SEC,” Brown posted, fueling speculation that the Aggies may be his next stop.

That move sparked optimism among Aggie fans, and for good reason—Brown is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 offensive and defensive lineman in the 2026 class.
“Brown is a true two-way line-of-scrimmage talent with tremendous long-term upside, whether on the offensive or defensive front,” wrote 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks. “He projects as an interior offensive lineman, with the physical tools and athleticism to become an elite center.”
While it remains uncertain whether Brown will play on offense or defense at the next level, his recent social media engagement with Texas A\&M’s defensive line commits suggests he may lean toward playing on that side of the ball. A Louisiana native and the state’s top-ranked player, many once assumed he would stay in-state for college.
