Cleveland Browns Receive Dismal Preseason Ranking for 2025 Season
The Cleveland Browns are entering the 2025 season with very low expectations, and recent power rankings reflect just how dire things may be for the team.
In a pre-training camp power ranking released by The Athletic, the Browns were ranked dead last at No. 32.
“The Browns had the worst offense in the league last season, scoring just 15.2 points per game. Their most notable moves to address this have included signing Joe Flacco, trading for Kenny Pickett, drafting two late-round quarterbacks, and bringing in wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who struggled with three different teams last year. At this rate, it won’t be long before Arch Manning might be another name added to the Browns’ list of starting quarterbacks,” wrote Josh Kendall of The Athletic.
Cleveland’s offensive woes last year were well-documented, with their 15.2 points per game placing them at the bottom of the league. To address these struggles, the Browns made a series of significant moves, including signing Joe Flacco to a one-year deal and trading for Kenny Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, Cleveland used the draft to bring in quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in hopes of finding a solution at the position.
Interestingly, The Athletic piece also mentioned the possibility of Arch Manning, a name that has been circulating more and more in connection with the Browns. If Cleveland’s season goes as poorly as expected, it may lead them to consider drafting a quarterback early in the 2026 NFL Draft, especially if they land a top pick.
For the Browns, it seems like all options could be on the table if the team endures another tough year.
