Barton Football Selected to Finish Fourth in 2025 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton College’s football team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, as announced by league officials earlier today. This marks the conference’s return to sponsoring football after a 51-year hiatus.
North Greenville and UNC Pembroke are tied at the top of the poll, each earning 32 points. The Braves garnered four first-place votes, while the Trailblazers received three.
Barton College had three players named to the Conference Carolinas Players to Watch list: sophomore defensive lineman Joshua Hightower (Smithfield, N.C.), junior linebacker Keno Jones (Rocky Mount, N.C.), and sophomore running back Jackson Parrish (Graham, N.C.).
Hightower posted 46 tackles last season, including two tackles for a loss, while Jones recorded 39 tackles (4.5 for a loss) and had a fumble recovery. Parrish led the Bulldogs in rushing with 556 yards and nine touchdowns and was named to the 2024 All-South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division honors.
Barton will kick off the season on Thursday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m. with a home game against Virginia State at Electric Supply Company Stadium and Truist Stadium. The Bulldogs will face North Greenville in their first-ever Conference Carolinas matchup on Saturday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.
