Angels Criticized as Major Losers of 2025 Trade Deadline

The Los Angeles Angels made the decision to keep their roster unchanged at the 2025 trade deadline, a move that’s left many around MLB questioning their reluctance to trade some of their veteran players.

The team had several veterans who could have been moved, yet no players with MLB experience were traded.

With slim chances of claiming the final American League Wild Card spot, the Angels’ front office still believes the team is capable of a strong second-half run.

As one critic put it, “The Angels are hoarding BBs, while the rest of the AL West is stocking up on heavy artillery. For what?”

“They’re behind multiple teams in the wild-card race, and completely out of contention for the division. Does anyone in the Angels’ front office even know what they’re doing?”

Outfielders Taylor Ward and Jo Adell were two of the more sought-after players on the trade market. Both have a few years of team control left and would provide a power boost to any lineup.

With the Angels’ farm system ranked among the weakest in the league, trading Ward or Adell could have landed them a solid prospect haul, bolstering their organizational depth.

However, general manager Perry Minasian opted to stand pat, keeping the current roster intact for the rest of the season.
