San Antonio Spurs Sign Former OKC Thunder Champion
The San Antonio Spurs have reportedly added an NBA champion to their roster, signing a player to an Exhibit-10 contract as they continue to make moves in a busy 2025 offseason. While the Spurs were initially expected to make a major trade, they have yet to pull off a blockbuster deal.
Current Roster Overview
As it stands, the Spurs have 14 players on standard contracts and have filled all three of their two-way spots. The roster includes guards De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, Devin Vassell, Jordan McLaughlin, and Lindy Waters III; forwards Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Sochan, Carter Bryant, Keldon Johnson, and Julian Champagnie; and centers Victor Wembanyama, Luke Kornet, and Kelly Olynyk. The two-way slots are occupied by Harrison Ingram, Riley Minix, and David Jones Garcia.
Preparing for Training Camp
Heading into training camp, the Spurs have signed two promising players to Exhibit-10 contracts, offering them a chance to showcase their skills before the 2025-26 season. These players could also land spots with the Austin Spurs in the G League.
One of the signings is Adam Flagler, 25, who joins the Spurs after two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, including winning an NBA championship with them last season. Flagler was also a key player in Baylor’s NCAA championship win, joining the rare group of athletes who have earned titles at both the college and professional levels.
During his 37 appearances with OKC last season, Flagler averaged 1.8 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in just 5.5 minutes per game. However, his G League performance has been far more impressive. In a single G League game for the Oklahoma City Blue, he scored 31 points in 28 minutes, shooting 10-of-20 from the field and 8-of-11 from beyond the arc, along with seven rebounds and five assists.
The Spurs also signed Micah Potter, a 27-year-old, 6-foot-10 big man who has played for the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons. Potter, who shot 34.9% from three-point range over three seasons and 61 games with the Jazz, is expected to provide solid depth during training camp.
Looking Ahead
While the Spurs still have one open spot for a standard contract heading into the 2025-26 season, they are likely to keep it open for roster flexibility rather than signing Flagler or Potter to a full contract. Both players are expected to join the Spurs’ G League affiliate for further development.
