Ravens’ Promising Pass Rusher Injured in Victory Over Cowboys
The Baltimore Ravens secured a 31-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys in their second preseason game, but the victory came with a setback.
Ravens linebacker Adisa Isaac, one of their promising pass rushers, suffered an injury during the game and was forced to leave the field. According to Giana Han of The Baltimore Banner, Isaac was evaluated by trainers after one of the kickoffs. Although he appeared to be in little pain, walking off the field on his own, he did not return to the game.
Han later reported that Isaac dislocated his elbow and is expected to miss several weeks as he recovers.
Isaac, who was drafted 93rd overall in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, is hoping his injury won’t affect his bid for a spot on the Ravens’ 53-man roster. The 23-year-old had a quiet rookie season, recording just four tackles and one pass defended over four games, while playing only 32 defensive snaps and 46 special teams reps.
In addition to this injury, Isaac has also been dealing with a hamstring issue since rookie minicamp in May. He was placed on the active/non-football injury (NFI) list before being activated to participate in training camp, though the hamstring problem has reportedly persisted. There’s a possibility he may have aggravated the injury while on the field.
With a crowded pass rush group, including veterans like Kyle Van Noy, Odafe Oweh, Tavius Robinson, David Ojabo, Malik Hamm, and rookie Mike Green, Isaac will need to return to form quickly if he hopes to secure his place on the roster.
Isaac had a standout career at Penn State, where he played in 11 games as a true freshman, recording 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He followed that up with 1.5 sacks and 13 tackles as a sophomore before missing the 2021 season due to injury. Isaac came back strong in 2022, starting all 13 games and registering 28 tackles and four sacks, and he capped off his college career in 2023 with 37 tackles and 7.5 sacks.
