Kalen DeBoer Makes Big Call on Alabama Powerhouse
Alabama’s offense took a hit in Saturday’s scrimmage when star running back Jam Miller suffered an upper-body injury, as announced by head coach Kalen DeBoer. The injury required Miller to undergo a procedure that same evening. While the expectation is that he will fully recover, there’s no set timeline for his return, and he could miss multiple games.
“Jam Miller sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday’s scrimmage and underwent a procedure later that evening. He should recover fully, but a return date is still undetermined,” DeBoer stated.
Losing Miller is a significant setback for the Crimson Tide, as he was slated to be the starting running back this season, taking on a heavy workload in the backfield. With a first-year quarterback starting, Miller was expected to play a key role in easing the transition. Over the past three seasons, Miller has appeared in 40 games, rushing 145 times for 668 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, along with 16 receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown.
