2026 DL Frederic Sainteus Reacts to Syracuse Offer: ‘It’s a Huge Opportunity’
Frederic Sainteus, a 2026 defensive lineman from St. John Neumann Catholic in Naples, FL, has seen his recruitment soar this summer. Although he committed to Florida Atlantic in June, the standout prospect has since attracted attention from Power 4 schools, with offers rolling in from Michigan State, Florida, Houston, and Miami by July. 
One of the latest schools to extend an offer was Syracuse, and Sainteus is eager to learn more about the program.
Sainteus Reflects on Syracuse’s Interest
“That’s a big opportunity,” Sainteus told The Juice Online. “It’s a huge offer. I’ve always dreamed of getting an offer like that. I’m very grateful for it.”
His primary recruiter from Syracuse is General Manager Thomas Caporale, and Sainteus quickly formed a strong bond with him.
“He was very genuine with me,” Sainteus shared. “He didn’t beat around the bush like some other coaches. I appreciated how straightforward he was. I liked the way he communicated with me and encouraged me to keep working hard.”
Caporale praised Sainteus’ relentless playstyle, particularly his never-give-up attitude on the field. Their conversations also touched on Sainteus’ personal story, including his family’s escape from violence in Haiti, which allowed him to thrive as an athlete in the U.S.
Sainteus Has Syracuse High on His List
Sainteus considers Syracuse to be one of his top options, placing them among his top five schools.
“They’re a huge program,” he said. “They’re definitely in my top five.”
Although he remains committed to FAU, Sainteus plans to make his final decision during the middle of the upcoming season and sign during the early signing period.
What Sainteus Wants in a College
When it comes to choosing a school, Sainteus is focused on competition and a winning culture.
“I’m looking for a place with high-level competition,” he said. “I want to be around people who are passionate about football and hard work. And I want to go to a place where we can win.”
On the field, Sainteus’ motor is his standout trait. He plays with a high football IQ, constantly reading and analyzing the game, but it’s his relentless drive that sets him apart.
“I’m the type of player who doesn’t give up on plays,” Sainteus said. “Even as a lineman, if you think you’re fast enough to outrun me, I’m still going to chase you down. No matter what, I always finish the play.”
